How many fruits
should I produce in one potted tree?
Potted lemon purchased last year (2017).
The state at the time of purchase is 「here」.
The lemon I bought had four fruits.
Then, the state when we replanted in a 20 liter pot is
「here」.
The culture soil was in the bowl for about 30 liters.
I grew this seedlings and harvested four fruits last year.
How many fruits can I harvest this year?
The situation on May 12, 2018 is「here」.
So many flowers were blooming and tree bore fruit.
If all the fruits are grown,
the nutrition of the lemon tree will be insufficient.
So I picked the fruit at this point.
I left about 30 fruits and looked at it.
After that,
I tried to leave one fruit in one branch
and leave a fruit that seems to be healthy.
Currently, 11 fruits remain.
The size of the lemon tree when purchased last year
is about 60 cm from the top of the pot soil.
The present lemon tree
is about 70 cm in height from the top of the pot soil.
Although they are growing a little,
it is good to think that they are almost the same.
So, should I reduce the number of fruits
to four or five this year too?
How many fruits can I harvest?
How big can I grow?

When does the fruit fall?
I thought that
let's leave it as it is and examine it.

① The fruit is small and there is less juice.
② The trees become weak and the harvest of the following year decreases.
It also causes Biennial bearing.
However,
in consideration of the above disadvantages,
I decided to pick some more lemon fruits.

👉 The appropriate period is August
The faster the fruits are picked, the less nutrition is consumed.
However, there is a possibility that the fruits will fall until the middle of July.
So it seems better to finish picking fruits
from the beginning of August to the beginning of the month.
It is because in August, the fruits will not fall off much.

As for the appropriate amount, it seems that this is a standard.
However,
it is hard to count the number of leaves even potted lemons.
In addition,
even though there are few leaves,
it seems to be able to harvest fruits,
so the above number is just an indication.
And I want to leave the big and beautiful fruits
and pick other fruits.
For my potted lemon,
it seems to be good to leave 5-10 fruits.
I will repeat it once more.
For the above reasons,
I picked the fruit while observing the condition of the fruit.
I picked fruits while looking at the size and color of the fruits
so that one or two fruits remained in one branch.
Currently 11 pieces.
I will grow lemon until August in this condition,
and when it is August, I
would like to pick the fruit depending on the condition of lemon.
One fruit per branch.
However, there are branches that still have two fruits.
There are two branches that leave two fruits.
I pray that the branches grow well!
By the way,
although the potted lemon fruit feels good,
the garden-planted lemon gets itself into a lot of trouble.
The number of fruits left in the gardening lemon is only one.
Last year was annihilation.
The last fruit of last year is here.

I think that the present fruit has grown to the same size as when it fell last year.
It does not look inferior to the current potted lemon fruits.

さて、上記の鉢植えと庭植えレモンの果実。
その後、どうなったでしょうか？
平成30年10月。
その年の収穫時期です。

令和元年 ５月が来ました。
庭植えレモンも鉢植えレモンも蕾が沢山付きました。
昨年迄は、「生理的落果」に備え、
「摘蕾摘花」はせず、「摘果」すると決めていました。
しかしながら、5月3日で「摘蕾」を実施してみました。
その時の様子が、「こちら」です！！
今年、どれぐらいの果実を残すようにしてみるか？
鉢植えレモンは、昨年８個の収穫でした。
今年、昨年と比べ、然程大きくなったとは言えません。
なので、少し増加の１０個以上を目指したいと考え始めました。
実を残し過ぎて、隔年結果となってしまってはいけませんが、
やはり、「どれぐらいの果実を残せるのか？」という
限界を知りたいという気持ちもあります。 ^^;
一方で、庭植えレモンはどうするのか？
「幼苗で一番成長する季節は秋ですが、これは根の成長を意味します。 5年以上の木は春でも秋でも成長に大差はありません。 1～4年目くらいまでは秋の成長を促したいですね。 4年で成長。5年目から収穫。 これが最短のように思います。 家のみかんも今年初生りで20個。 来年が50個。 再来年が100個。 見えております。」
「全く実の無いのも寂しく楽しみがありません。 小さな苗は1～2個程度でしょうか。 地植えレモンは6年くらい待ったことがあります。 初生りで100個ほど収穫しました。」

今年５年目に入ります。
出来れば、今年は４０個、来年は１００個を目指したいものです。
